Our Story

Calvary Baptist Church began in February of 1938 with a handful of people meeting in a house on Weston Ave in Niagara Falls. Their goal was to "hold forth a sound witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ." Since that beginning the people of the church would go on to meet in various places over the years, including buildings, store front property, and even in Gospel tents. In 1940 an initial payment was made to secure the current location of the church at 624 Hyde Park Blvd, and thus began the construction of the building. After three years of paying for the property and constructing the building, the finished church building was ready for use and the first worship service was held on September 26th, 1943. Since then, the church buildings have expanded, God has added growth among the people, and the goal has been the same over all of these years: to "hold forth a sound witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ." God has richly blessed Calvary over the years, and today we're still trumpeting that same, saving Gospel message.
